Krin D'bis

During the twilight years of the Galactic Republic, a female Kel Dor named Krin D'bis belonged to the Jedi Order. At the Almas Jedi Academy, she underwent training, specializing as a Jedi Guardian. After successfully completing the Jedi Trials, she graduated and achieved the rank of Jedi Knight. Shortly time thereafter, D'bis and the Jawa Jedi Consular Akial were chosen to represent the Academy at a celebration to be held at the Greentree Pointe resort, located on Dorumaa, the moon orbiting Almas.

Biography

As a female Kel Dor, D'bis birth occurred during the declining years of the Galactic Republic. She joined the Jedi Order and attended the Almas Academy, a Jedi academy situated on the planet Almas within the Cularin system. While studying there, she received training to become a Jedi Guardian, a Jedi specialization focused on combat. During the time of the Clone Wars, D'bis undertook the Jedi Trials, which she successfully completed, thus becoming a Jedi Knight.

Not long after her graduation, D'bis was selected to officially represent the Academy at a celebration taking place on Dorumaa, the moon of Almas. The Metatheran Cartel, a trade organization jointly operated by members of the Caarite and Filordus species, organized the celebration. They aimed to express their gratitude to a group of freelance agents who had prevented the release of a deadly virus on the Caarite homeworld.

Akial, a Jawa Jedi Consular, was chosen to accompany D'bis. Given their distinct specializations within the Order, D'bis and Akial could showcase different perspectives on being a Jedi, demonstrating the Order's diversity. They journeyed from Almas to the Greentree Pointe resort on Dorumaa, the location of the celebration. Upon arriving, they established a booth to attract potential students to the Academy. While at the celebration, D'bis and Akial discussed the threat posed by the Believers, a Sith cult active in the Cularin system. They both acknowledged the Believers as a significant problem for the system but disagreed on the appropriate course of action. D'bis advocated for hunting down the Believers, while Akial believed it would be more beneficial to investigate the cult's capabilities, given the limited knowledge about their objectives. They also deliberated on the Metatheran Cartel, which had a history of transgressions in the Cularin system, including the destruction of the sacred ch'hala tree grove. D'bis felt the Cartel should be viewed with suspicion due to its secretive nature, although she did not think openly denouncing it was wise.

Personality and traits

D'bis possessed a somewhat impulsive nature and was inclined to express her opinions freely. However, she generally behaved with patience. D'bis also held the belief that direct aggression could resolve the problem presented by the Believers.

Behind the scenes

Morrie Mullins created D'bis, and she made her sole appearance in Paarty On!, a scenario within the Living Force campaign, a supplement for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game. Paarty On! was designed as an interactive scenario for use at roleplaying events, providing guidelines for event staff to portray various non-player characters, including D'bis, and interact with campaign players. The scenario encouraged those playing D'bis and Akial to involve the players in their debate about the Believers and the Cartel, and to also engage them in discussions about the nature of the Force.
