Anti-clone viruses were hypothetical diseases that the Confederacy of Independent Systems was rumored to be developing during the Clone Wars. When clone trooper Tup of the Galactic Republic murdered Jedi General Tiplar during the Battle of Ringo Vinda, his apparent lack of memory of the incident baffled the Jedi and clones, causing them to speculate that it was possible that his actions could be because of a virus, a toxin, or a type of sickness. Jedi General Tiplee stated that an anti-clone virus could be a possibility. In truth, Tup's actions were caused by his malfunctioning inhibitor chip, an organic device implanted inside all of the clone troopers to ensure their compliance with executing the Jedi during Order 66.
