Disease

Waterborne Blue Shadow Virus A group of deceased shaaks, infected with the Blue Shadow Virus illness A disease can be defined as a condition or ailment that modifies the structure or function of living species. These conditions typically exert detrimental impacts on beings, compromising their well-being and potentially resulting in death. Diseases can arise from natural processes, or they can be artificially created for the purpose of biological warfare.

During the Clone Wars, the Faust Doctor Nuvo Vindi transformed the Blue Shadow Virus into a weapon. This highly dangerous virus was briefly unleashed within Nuvo Vindi's laboratory located on the planet Naboo. However, the timely arrival of Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi led to the discovery of a cure for this disease.

Bloodburn, an untreatable illness of an unconfirmed origin, afflicted starship pilots. Although usually deadly, the symptoms of this disease could be managed with injections of hadeira serum, as well as a proper diet and regular exercise. The human pilot Greer Sonnel's racing career was destroyed after she was infected with bloodburn.

However, not every disease was fatal. Some conditions, such as acne, could leave visible blemishes on the skin of some humans, but their overall health remained unaffected. Examples of such individuals included Imperial Major Steen Borkas and Rebolt, a member of the White Worms gang.
