Nuvo Vindi, a brilliant yet deranged male scientist resembling a Faust archetype, served the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. Commissioned by the Separatists, Vindi resurrected the Blue Shadow Virus, a long-dormant pathogen with the potential for widespread galactic devastation. Operating from a secret laboratory located on the planet Naboo, he attempted to unleash the virus but was ultimately apprehended by the combined forces of the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order. Subsequently, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker discovered a cure on Iego, saving those infected within Vindi's facility. While in Republic custody, Vindi, together with Lok Durd, figured into Lieutenant Commander Orson Krennic's initial scheme for a prisoner exchange with the Separatists, aiming to secure the release of Galen Erso, Lyra Erso, and their infant daughter Jyn Erso from their confinement on Vallt.

Nuvo Vindi, originating from the planet Adana, was a male scientist inspired by Faust during the era known as the Fall of the Republic. He rose to prominence as the chief medic for the Perma families. His disappearance occurred in 31 BBY.
Vindi reemerged a decade later, specifically in 21 BBY. Initially, he was enlisted by the Separatist Alliance with the task of engineering a virus designed to target clone troopers. However, he was secretly driven by a darker ambition: the revival of the lethal Blue Shadow Virus. To facilitate his research, Vindi was provided with a secluded laboratory hidden within Naboo's eastern swamps. Due to his profound insanity, Vindi felt no ethical reservations about recreating the virus, despite its capacity for universal infection and high mortality. He saw the virus as a superior lifeform unjustly "murdered," and considered its revival as an act of judgment upon the galaxy and the supposedly superior beings that had eradicated it.

Vindi's experiments achieved success; he not only resurrected the virus but also transformed it into an airborne variant, significantly increasing its potency and danger compared to its original waterborne form. He then directed his droids to manufacture bombs intended for filling with virus capsules and detonating in vital Republic star systems. However, a minor leak of the virus occurred from the lab, and Vindi's tactical droid was subsequently captured by the Royal Naboo Security Forces under the command of Captain Gregar Typho.
Vindi then detected the approach of Naboo's senator, Padmé Amidala, and representative, Jar Jar Binks, towards his laboratory. Consequently, Vindi dispatched his battle droids to apprehend them and bring them inside, where he revealed his plans for the virus while loading the final bomb and entrusting it to his servant droid, LEP-86C8.

When Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker arrived, accompanied by Padawan Ahsoka Tano and Clone Captain Rex, Vindi's base soon came under attack from the Republic. He used Amidala and Binks as hostages to distract the Jedi, buying him time to escape with samples of the virus. He did not, however, anticipate the Jedi's ability to pursue him effectively. Clone ordnance specialists successfully disarmed the virus bombs, while Skywalker, aided by shaak herder Peppi Bow, foiled his escape and contained any potential virus leak.
Nuvo Vindi, a Faustian male scientist, stood at a height of 2.07 meters (6 feet, 9 inches), characterized by gray eyes and pale blue skin. Distinct purple markings encircled his eyes, and he spoke basic with a pronounced accent. Vindi displayed demeaning behavior toward the droids under his command, notably scolding LEP-86C8 after the capture of Amidala and Binks. He firmly believed that the Blue Shadow Virus was a life-form that had been murdered and was prepared to torture and kill to resurrect it. His plan to release it back into the galaxy would have resulted in countless deaths, a prospect that Vindi regarded without remorse. Instead, the doctor was genuinely excited, believing it would bring peace and purity to the universe.
Vindi remained defiant even with a lightsaber pressed against his throat, following his defeat by the Jedi. The doctor expressed delight at the possibility of the virus escaping the lab and destroying Naboo, even if it could not leave the planet. Furthermore, he welcomed the prospect of his own death alongside that of the Jedi.
Vindi was armed with a Weequay blaster pistol and wore a pair of glasses that he held in place manually. He also utilized viral bombs containing vials of the Blue Shadow Virus.
