The Mission to Iego unfolded during the Clone Wars. Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker journeyed to the planet Iego to obtain reeksa root; this was the only known remedy for the lethal Blue Shadow Virus. A dangerous airborne version of this virus, created by Doctor Nuvo Vindi, had trapped Skywalker's secret wife, Senator Padmé Amidala, along with his Padawan Ahsoka Tano and several clone troopers, within an underground laboratory on Naboo. Although securing the reeksa root was relatively straightforward for Skywalker and Kenobi, their departure from Iego was made difficult by a LaserWeb Defense Station. This system, installed by the Separatists on the planet's moons before their exit, was known to the Iegoans as the "Ghost of Drol." This system had been effective in destroying any starships attempting to leave the planet. With the assistance of repurposed battle droids from Cliffhold resident Jaybo Hood, Kenobi, Skywalker, and astromech droid R2-D2 successfully disabled the laser web. This act liberated the Iegoans and allowed the Jedi to return to Naboo with the cure in time to save those still alive in the laboratory.
