The Blade of the Betrayer first appeared in the MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies as part of the Trials of Obi-Wan expansion released in 2005. The blade was a weapon players could use, which was obtainable either as loot dropped by Vansk during the quest "An Archaeologist's Problem" or through crafting by the player.
