The Cantaros was a VKCE-7100x Starcutter utilized by Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh during the High Republic Era, named for her former Padawan, Imri Cantaros. Rwoh kept the starship on Coruscant during her time as a Master in case she was ever required to leave. In 132 BBY, Rwoh and a group of Jedi used the starship to travel to the planet Khofar in order to investigate the aftermath of Master Sol's mission. After returning to Coruscant, Rwoh later traveled to Brendok in the Cantaros with another Jedi team to follow Sol's transponder.
The Cantaros was a VKCE-7100x Starcutter produced by Valkeri-Kuat Consolidated Enterprises. An experimental design, the starship was equipped with an integrated hyperdrive as well as engines.
During the High Republic Era, Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh of the Jedi Order owned the Cantaros, which was named for her former Padawan, Imri Cantaros. Although Rwoh was unsettled by hyperspace travel, she kept the vessel on Coruscant for instances when she had to leave. In 132 BBY, after Rwoh received a distress signal from Master Sol following his mission to the planet Khofar—during which the rest of his team was killed by the Sith known as the Stranger, another former pupil of Rwoh's—she decided to travel to Khofar herself. Rwoh and a group of Jedi, including Padawan Mog Adana, boarded the Cantaros at a spaceport on Coruscant and departed for Khofar. After arriving above the planet—unknowingly not long after Sol's own vessel departed—the Jedi landed the Cantaros in a field on Khofar, disembarking to investigate. With Sol having deactivated his transponder, Rwoh and the other Jedi returned to Coruscant.
When Sol reactivated his transponder after on the planet Brendok, Adana informed Rwoh, who instructed the Padawan to gather as many Jedi Knights as possible while remaining discreet and prepare her ship. Rwoh and the other Jedi traveled to Brendok in the Cantaros, flying past the planet's fortress while Sol dueled the Stranger and the Sith's former acolyte, Mae-ho Aniseya, fought her sister, Verosha Aniseya, with the vessel's arrival being noticed by the combatants. Landing the Cantaros in a field surrounded by trees, Rwoh disembarked behind the other Jedi before stopping next to the entry ramp, having sensed her former student's presence. On Brendok, Rwoh and the Jedi found Sol dead and Mae with her memories erased. Taking Mae prisoner, the Jedi subsequently returned to Coruscant.
The Cantaros was utilized by Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh. When traveling to Khofar, Rwoh was accompanied by three other Jedi, including Mog Adana. A group of ten other Jedi accompanied Rwoh and Adana to Brendok.
The Cantaros first appeared in "Teach / Corrupt," the sixth episode of the Disney+ series The Acolyte, which aired on July 2, 2024. The vessel was identified in both the StarWars.com episode guide and Databank entry on the following day, which confirmed its name's connection to Imri Cantaros from the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project.
