A Death Spiral was a type of attack vehicle that was used during the Republic Dark Age.
Death Spirals were cone-shaped, and contained more than a dozen concentric rings that were armed with laser turrets and missile launchers, with each of the rings able to rotate independently of the others.
The Death Spiral was developed by the Sith Lord Chagras, who constructed several of them. Chagras's nephew Odion later constructed a Death Spiral of his own, which was much larger than the versions used by Chagras, and was controlled by actual crews, rather than remote-controlled, as Chagras's Death Spirals had been. Odion deployed the weapon during the Battle of Gazzari in 1032 BBY, and it was destroyed by the Jedi Knight Kerra Holt.
