Din

Prior to its destruction in a supernova in approximately 5000 BBY, Din was orbited by three gas giant–type planets. The supernova vaporized any inner planets Din may have had and boiled away the vast atmospheres of the gas giants, leaving behind their exposed cores—one of which was a diamond the size of a terrestrial world that had been formed by the intense pressure in the planet's atmosphere. The supernova left behind an energetic pulsar and an expanding nebulosity of red gases.

Din was first mentioned in the article "Endor and the Moddell Sector," which was published in the ninth issue of the Star Wars Gamer magazine on February 22, 2002. The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Din system, and therefore its former star, in grid square H-16.
