The FateSpinner was a massive and pristine Shatter-class WarMaster warship that served as the flagship of the Grysk operative "Jixtus"'s fleet and was commanded by a Grysk captain. Equipped with a nyix hull, missiles shielded by smaller projectiles known as dibbers, and spectrum laser, the starship was capable of destroying the large Illumine Kilhorde battle fleet of the Kilji Illumine in two hours.
In 18 BBY, the FateSpinner assisted its master in intimidating his ally, Generalirius Nakirre, and attempted to destroy the Chiss Clarr light cruiser Orisson in the Chiss Ascendancy nations's Ornfra system to prevent its captain, Captain Clarr'os'culry, from leaking to the public that the Ascendancy's Clarr family was housing the FateSpinner and other Grysk warships in the Rhigar system. However, the Shatter-class WarMaster did not succeed, as the Orisson was able to flee into hyperspace.
Days after the attack at Ornfra, the FateSpinner and the rest of Jixtus's fleet engaged a fleet of Chiss warships in the Sunrise system during Senior Captain Thrawn's last stand. The ships initially had the upper hand but with the assistance of the Garwian Unity and Vak Combine nations' respective warships and a Vagaari gravity well projector, the Chiss were able to destroy most of the Grysks. After destroying his own fleet, Jixtus warned the Chiss that the Grysks would be back before destroying the FateSpinner.
A massive Shatter-class WarMaster, the FateSpinner was a warship part of the warlike Grysk species' armada and the flagship of a Grysk fleet commanded by the Grysk "Jixtus." The ship had a bow filled with clusters of spectrum lasers located in large weapons clusters, along with more spectrum lasers and missile tubes on the warships weapons shoulders. Lights marked the warships flanks and dorsal spine, which accented the ships length. It used dibbers to shield its missiles in combat and was able to hold shuttlecraft and escape pods from Kilji war cruisers, ships three or four times smaller than the WarMaster.
In 18 BBY, the ship's master, Jixtus, allied himself with the ruler of the Illumine, Generalirius Nakirre. The Kilji would ferry the Grysk across the Unknown Regions aboard the Kilji war cruiser Whetstone, preventing the peoples of the region from knowing the size of their true enemies—the Grysks and Jixtus's fleet. Jixtus and Nakirre visited the Chiss Ascendancy's Mitth family Patriel of Avidich named Thistrian, and the Grysk did not allow the generalirius to speak of the Kilji religion to the patriel before being ordered away by the Chiss.
As a result, a confrontation between the allies took place, and Jixtus took Nakirre to a star system where all of the Kilji's questions would be answered. When they arrived, however, instead of Nakirre receiving his answers, the FateSpinner pointed all its weaponry at the Whetstone. Intimidating Nakirre with the destruction of the Kilhorde, the FateSpinners owner continued using the Kilji as a tool, visiting several worlds in the Chiss Ascendancy, including the planet of Rhigar, where the Grysk–aligned Chiss Clarr family resided.
The Clarr Patriarch, Clarr'ivl'exow "Rivlex", had accepted Grysk warships from Jixtus, housing them, including the FateSpinner, in the outer Rhigar system. The Clarr light cruiser Orisson saw the starships, and the FateSpinners commanders reported that fact to Rivlex and Jixtus. To prevent Roscu from leaking the Clarr–Grysk alliance, Jixtus planned to travel with the Whetstone to the Orissons destination, the Ornfra system; however, the operative had another task to take care of and instead sent his Shatter-class WarMaster. At Ornfra, the WarMaster attacked the Orisson with little effect before the cruiser escaped to hyperspace. Shortly after, Jixtus learnt that a fleet of Chiss warships had gathered at Schesa and traveled to the planet known to the Chiss as Sunrise, prompting him to send his fleet to deal with the opposing Chiss formation. At Sunrise, the FateSpinner and the other ships of Jixtus's fleet engaged the fleet but were defeated by the Chiss, with the Shatter-class WarMaster self-destructing.
