Green Squad was the name given to all training squads in Alliance Training Center-5/Green Squad before they received their own designation. One particular group, which went on to become Green Squad 3, was in the middle of its final training exercise and had just received the data file Green3 when Imperial forces attacked the base. They helped fight off the forces by entering the mobile command base and destroying it from the inside.
