Hekula raced against Anakin Skywalker in an illegal podrace at the Great Dordon Caves on the planet Euceron during the Galactic Games of 26 BBY, but he crashed the podracer by latching it to another pod and abandoning it. This caused his father to forbid him from racing for life.
Hekula had a son named Pugwis who carried on the family tradition of podracing.
