The Imperial Fortress was an Imperial military base and starport on Yavin 4.

The Imperial Fortress was built by the Empire after the Rebel Alliance evacuated Yavin 4, six months after the Battle of Yavin. The base was commanded by Vraker Orde. A garrison of stormtroopers was based in this outpost in order to fight renaming Rebel troops hidden in the jungles and to prevent any attempt of the Alliance to reuse Yavin 4 as a base. Ironically, the Rebels managed to briefly occupy the base shortly after its construction.
Later, members of the Black Epsilon and Storm Squadron were stationed at the fortress to receive various space combat missions to fight Rebel presence in the Yavin system. Officers of this two detachments included Haymir Rendundi, Field Commander Alozen and Captain Denner. Lieutenant Colonel Barlow was also based at the Imperial Fortress.
In 1 ABY, two Imperial technicians, Tellulon and Arlo, were based at the outpost. The former was in fact a spy of the Rebel Alliance who eventually convinced the latter to defect to the Alliance. Around the same time, Wedge Antilles tasked a group of Rebel operatives to raid the Imperial Detainment Facility in the fortress during the Remembrance Day festivities. The Rebel agents successfully rescued six Rebel pilots from the facility.
