Infantryman's badge

The infantryman's badge served as an honor bestowed upon soldiers belonging to the Alliance to Restore the Republic's army after they successfully concluded their initial combat assignment. This uncomplicated badge displayed a blaster rifle positioned over a laurel wreath, accompanied by a small bar affixed below the rifle's barrel that displayed the word "Rifleman" in Aurebesh script. Enlisted personnel and lower-ranking officers wore this badge, and occasionally, higher-ranking officers would wear it on their formal attire. While the badge simply denoted that the wearer had participated in combat, it signified that the individual had fought, and most likely bled, for the Alliance, thus deserving admiration.

Behind the scenes

The Star Wars Roleplaying sourcebook titled Lead by Example introduced the infantryman's badge. John Dunn authored this sourcebook, which Fantasy Flight Games released in 2016 for the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game.
