A Jedi Temple was located on the planet Vrogas Vas. By the time of the Galactic Civil War, the temple had been left in ruins. Luke Skywalker ventured to the ruins of the Vrogas Vas temple to learn more about what it meant to be a Jedi, after learning of its location from a holocron that contained a message from Jedi Master Phin-Law Wo, who was once stationed in the temple.
The Jedi Temple on the planet Vrogas Vas was a stone structure that contained a number of statues. By the time of the Galactic Civil War, the temple was left in ruins. Many of its statues, depicting the likenesses of members of the Jedi Order, were broken and collapsed. One of the walls of the temple contained writing that had been left with a lightsaber.
At some point during its existence, Jedi Master Phin-Law Wo was stationed at the temple on Vrogas Vas. Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi knew of the temple, and wrote about it in his journal for Luke. After it was left in ruins, Jedi trainee Luke Skywalker found a holocron on Nar Shaddaa with a message from Master Wo, who spoke of the Jedi Temple. Skywalker left Nar Shaddaa and traveled to Vrogas Vas, where he was stationed with Red Squadron. During a starfighter battle with the Sith Lord Darth Vader, Skywalker and Vader both crash-landed on the planet. Skywalker crashed his X-wing fighter outside the ruins of the Jedi Temple and ventured through them as he attempted to meet up with fellow members from the Rebel Alliance. While making his way through the ruins, he saw what he believed was the presence of his late master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and his father, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker—who, unknown to the young Jedi, was secretly Darth Vader. He was soon captured by associates of the Sith Lord: the archaeologist Aphra and the assassin droid BT-1.
The Jedi Temple on Vrogas Vas was first mentioned in the 2015 comic book Star Wars (2015) 9, written by Jason Aaron. It was first seen in Vader Down 1, also written by Jason Aaron.
