"The Journals of Ben Kenobi" were a set of journals written by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi during his exile on the desert world of Tatooine. After Kenobi's mortal death, Luke Skywalker visited Kenobi's home on Tatooine and discovered the journal kept in a case labeled "For Luke."
The stories include adventures of Obi-Wan Kenobi in his efforts to protect Luke, and help the townsfolk. In addition, Kenobi notes his eagerness to learn more about the Force, and tries to communicate with Qui-Gon Jinn as well as reflect on his decisions as a Jedi. They were written using a calligraphy set, which was eventually passed down to Ben Solo.
The Journals of Ben Kenobi were first introduced in the Marvel comic book Star Wars (2015) 6. The comic's author, Jason Aaron, revealed that stories from Kenobi's journal will be told as standalone comics between each arc of the Star Wars comic series. The first story from the journal was told in Star Wars (2015) 7.
Although the transcribed title in the comic uses the word "journals," in the plural, the Aurebesh on the cover actually reads "journal," in the singular.
