As an A/SF-01 B-wing starfighter pilot, Farlander was equipped with a red flight suit and helmet. He had light skin and brown hair.
Keyan Farlander first appeared as the player character in the Legends video game Star Wars: X-Wing, with a history expanded on in the game's supplemental material. Sources published in the many years following the game's release would identify Farlander as the pilot of the Y-wing seen flying away from the exploding Death Star alongside the Millennium Falcon and Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles' X-wings in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In the new canon started in 2014, the identity of the Y-wing pilot was changed to Evaan Verlaine, who also had a different callsign (Gold Three). The identity of Gold Seven was changed to Gazdo Woolcob.
