Aspiring to become a professional podracer pilot, the Ualaq Aqualish named LobwuWa Loba was present at the Mos Espa Grand Arena on Tatooine in 32 BBY. Loba watched the Boonta Eve Classic from the private box of Watto, a local junk dealer.
During the subsequent ten years, the Aqualish gained recognition as a competent podracer. By 22 BBY, Loba had returned to the Grand Arena as a favored contender in a podracing event. The fledgling bounty hunter Boba Fett identified Loba as one of the racers who had an appreciation for the sport. The crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure had prearranged the outcome of that particular race.
LobwuWa Loba made an appearance on a viewscreen in the young reader novel Boba Fett: Hunted (2003) penned by Elizabeth Hand. The "An Audience of Aliens" segment in the Rogues Gallery feature of Star Wars Insider magazine's 131st issue (2012) pinpointed characters in Watto's box from the 1999 prequel trilogy installment, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, and retroactively established Loba's presence among them.
