Oga's Obsession was a type of snack provision consisting of a teal or blue gelatinous base topped with multicolored, solid pieces that fizzed in the mouth. It was served in a clear, round dish and was suitable for consumption by humans or Blutopians such as the crime boss Oga Garra, after whom the dish was named.
During the war between the First Order and the Resistance, in 34 ABY, Oga's Obsession was served to patrons at Garra's establishment Oga's Cantina in Black Spire Outpost on the Outer Rim planet Batuu. By that time, the dish had become a favorite of the crime boss.
When Garra first met the Resistance spy Vi Moradi in 34 ABY, she slurped Oga's Obsession from a glass dish, splattering Moradi's face with bits of goop. Garra explained that she controlled the outpost and did not want interference from the Resistance or its powerful enemies, the First Order. Standing close to Moradi, the crime boss used her fingers to crush the dish. Moradi did not flinch at the display despite the snack's juice stinging her eyes; afterward, she had to scrub blue slime off of her face. In his Batuu guidebook authored that year, Traveler's Guide to Batuu, the historian Eloc Throno included a photo of Oga's Obsession in a section mentioning Oga's Cantina as a place to visit on Batuu.
Oga's Obsession first appeared as a beverage sold to guests at the Oga's Cantina bar in the themed attraction Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge upon its debut in Disneyland Park on May 31, 2019. The dish was first revealed in an article on D23: The Official Disney Fan Club identifying the dish as "Cantina mix" on February 27 of the same year. The following day, the snack was first identified as Oga's Obsession in a StarWars.com article. The dish is served in a container that resembles a petri dish. The menu lists it as a "provision" and describes it as "Minute Maid® Lemonade, Cotton Candy Flavor, and Blueberry Flavor–filled Boba, with a bursting Dried Fruit Mixture." An alcoholic version of Oga's Obsession called the Rodian Ration is available exclusively at the Walt Disney World location of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.
