Ottdefa

The scholar and mortisologist Minister Veris Hydan wore a zeyd-cloth tunic in an ottdefa's cut while investigating a Jedi Temple on the planet Lothal for the Galactic Empire in 1 BBY.

In the current Star Wars canon, the term ottdefa was used in the 2023 reference book Star Wars: Dawn of Rebellion: The Visual Guide, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo and Emily Shkoukani. The term originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was an academic title first used in L. Neil Smith's 1983 novel Lando Calrissian and the Mindharp of Sharu, the first installment of the Star Wars: The Lando Calrissian Adventures trilogy.
