Once a young male Twi'lek podracing pilot in the employ of the Hutts, Ree shifted his allegiance to work a criminal endeavor for Kaeline Ungasan, an ambitious crime lord.
Ree's career began as a podracing pilot, working independently for the Hutts. During this period, he befriended Benkudi, a Dug residing in Mos Espa on Tatooine.
After a brief stint, Ree concluded that the Hutts' compensation was insufficient. At this juncture, Kaeline Ungasan, an up-and-coming crime boss, presented Ree with a more lucrative offer. Ungasan's ambition was to seize control of podracing on Ando Prime, intending to wrest it from the Hutts by establishing a new race known as the Ungasan Cross Country. Ree consented to serve as the principal scout for race locations.
While performing his duties, Ree discovered traces of the valuable metal Vonium and reported it to Ungasan. Ungasan's plan involved conducting an illegal mining operation without acquiring the land. To achieve this, they needed to pinpoint the precise location of the Vonium vein. Their strategy was to equip podracers with scanning devices, sell them to pilots at reduced prices, and anticipate that many of these devices would be dislodged during the race. Ree would then collect and examine the discarded equipment. The route of the Cross Country race was modified each time it was held, ostensibly to provide new and stimulating challenges, but in reality, it was secretly based on the most probable Vonium seam locations.
Ree procured mining survey equipment from Geon Justic, the manager of the Miner's Union Hall, utilizing surplus materials from the CSA supplied by Ungasan. Ree also ensured Justic's silence and obtained partial information about the Juaka Canyon, a ravine that Ree deemed suitable for his scheme. Justic deliberately withheld information about the savage native Talids who haunted the Canyon, seeking to reclaim lost machinery. He hoped the Talids would eliminate Ree, thereby absolving Justic of any future obligations. The Ungasan Cross Country traversed the Canyon, a section of the race that resulted in the deaths of at least four pilots.
Ree exerted considerable effort to conceal his connection to Ungasan and the race on Ando Prime. The residents of the local town of Elesa believed that he was part of a four-member survey team studying the local fauna. Only Justic knew the truth.

Ree astutely surmised that his acquaintance Benkudi would likely attempt to sell any information he possessed to the Hutts. Ree informed Ungasan, who in turn hired thugs to assault Benkudi.
However, by that time, the Hutts were already aware of Ungasan's plans and Ree's involvement. The Hutts engaged independent agents, who were led to believe they were working for Ree's concerned father, Jer Blankuna. In reality, Blankuna was not Ree's relative but a Twi'lek agent of the Hutts. The Hutts orchestrated a deception, fabricating a false history for Ree, claiming he had taken pleasure trips to Aquilaris and Coruscant.
Blankuna provided the unsuspecting agents with a tracking device, enabling mercenaries to follow them. As soon as the agents located Ree, the mercenary leader Davon Gitta was instructed to capture Ree and eliminate any witnesses, employing his Gamorrean agents.
Ree and his team journeyed to the Juaka Canyon aboard their Ikas-Adno 22-B Nightfalcon speeder bikes to salvage the scanning devices from the wreckage of the podracers. They were ambushed by the Talids, who considered themselves the rightful owners of the devices. During the ensuing conflict, they were discovered by Blankuna's independent agents, Ungasan herself, CSA thugs searching for Ungasan, and possibly Gitta's Gamorreans. The outcome of this multifaceted encounter remains unknown.
