Jer Blankuna functioned as an operative for the Desilijic Hutt clan and was a Twi'lek. He was the husband of Gelune Blankuna.
The Desilijic clan found themselves in competition with Kaeline Ungasan, an up-and-coming crime lord, and his young Twi'lek subordinate named Ree, for dominance over podracing on Ando Prime. Consequently, the Desilijic family instructed the Blankunas to pose as Ree's parents, enlisting independent contractors to locate Ree. To support this charade, the Hutts fabricated a family history, involving a rags-to-riches story in the shipping industry, and established the Blankunas in a mansion in the orbit of Alderaan populated with Human servants, to maintain their cover.
The Blankunas held job interviews with potential candidates at their supposed residence, dispatching a YT-1300 freighter known as the Fleen to transport them. The Twi'leks delivered a convincing portrayal of concerned parents, with Mrs. Blankuna feigning distress in another room. They successfully hired the candidates, mentioning a Tatooinian Dug named Benkudi who allegedly contacted them to sell information about Ree. Furthermore, they supplied their new hires with a datapad containing Ree's image. This datapad was equipped with a tracking device, enabling the Desilijic Gamorrean mercenaries, led by Davon Gitta, to locate the agents as soon as they found Ree.
Following the conclusion of the interviews, the Desilijic relocated the Blankunas and reassigned them new identities. The orbital mansion was subsequently sold to Alderaanian Humans, Sumda and Jylle Tend.
