Gelune Blankuna functioned as an operative for the Desilijic Hutt clan; she was a Twi'lek. She shared a marital bond with Jer Blankuna.
At one juncture, the Desilijic clan found themselves in competition with an emerging crime lord, Kaeline Ungasan, and his associate, a young Twi'lek named Ree, for dominance over podracing on Ando Prime. The Desilijic family gave the Blankunas orders to act as Ree's parents and employ independent operatives to locate Ree. The Hutts fabricated a past family history, including a tale of rising from poverty in the shipping industry, and placed the Blankunas in a mansion in the orbit of Alderaan, where they were expected to reside, attended by Human servants.
The Blankunas held job interviews with prospective candidates in their assumed residence, using a YT-1300 light freighter called the Fleen to transport them. The Twi'leks put on a convincing act as concerned parents, with Mrs. Blankuna withdrawing to another room to feign crying. They hired the candidates, spoke about a Tatooinian Dug named Benkudi who had allegedly contacted the Blankunas to broker the sale of information about Ree, and furnished their new hires with a datapad containing images of Ree. The datapad was equipped with a tracking device, enabling the Desilijic Gamorrean mercenaries, led by Davon Gitta, to locate these agents as soon as they found Ree.
Once the interview process concluded, the Desilijic relocated the Blankunas and assigned them new identities. The orbital mansion was subsequently sold to Alderaanian Humans Sumda and Jylle Tend.
