The ST-W48 blaster rifle, a type of blaster, was utilized by Sith troopers belonging to the Sith Eternal army. Among its users was the trooper known as ST-I4191. This weapon could be configured as either a standard blaster rifle or, by detaching the stock, as a shorter blaster carbine suitable for close-quarters combat. Uniquely, each ST-W48 was equipped with a quarrel-bolt launcher, positioned beneath the barrel, which employed advanced bowcaster technology to deliver potent explosive blasts. The power cell cartridge for the rifle was situated approximately halfway along its length, just above the trigger mechanism. It also featured a fully automatic firing mode, enabling a rapid succession of shots.
Throughout the Battle of Exegol, a pivotal engagement in the First Order's war against the Resistance, numerous Sith troopers engaged in combat wielding ST-W48 blasters.
The ST-W48 blaster rifle made its initial debut in the Star Wars Battlefront II game as part of the Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker update. Its official designation was first established in the reference guide Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, authored by Pablo Hidalgo.
