The Servants were Sith Pureblood fanatics who served the Emperor of the Sith Empire originally as members of the Emperor's Hand. Later, after the Sith Emperor abandoned the Empire, the Servants continued to serve him contrary to the Empire's will.
Originally created as a title granted to the twelve members of the Emperor's Hand, the shadowy organization that served the Sith Emperor of the reconstituted Sith Empire. The position was a lifetime appointment, and the twelve Sith purebloods who made up the Hand were granted a link to their master's mind and a share of his immortality in exchange for the Emperor drawing upon their strength to sustain his own life. Around 3643 BBY, Servant One was chief among his fellow Servants, and he was constantly accompanied by Servant Two.
At a later point, Servant One and Two died which left the organization leaderless as the Servants were constantly hunted by Lord Scourge and Kira Carsen and, according to Scourge, each time the duo thought they had slayed them all then even more showed up to take their place.
Emperor Vowrawn's reformation of the Hand also spelled doom for the Servants as the new organization owed no allegiance to the former Sith Emperor, Vitiate, mainly due to his goal of consuming all life to fuel his immortality and him discarding the Sith in favour of Zakuul.
During the third Galactic War, the Servants regrouped under Servant Four in an all-out last effort to assist the resurrection of Vitiate with the plague afflicted Satele Shan and her students comatose. Their efforts were interrupted by the arrival of the Scions of Zakuul led by Minazar who sought to resurrect Valkorion. Both groups clashed violently throughout the ship until the arrival of the Alliance Commander which saw to the group's extinction as well as the prevention of the Emperor's resurrection.
