A special missions company represented a unit within the Imperial Army.
The structure of special missions companies included three special missions platoons, a strengthened scout platoon, and command and logistical components. The company's total strength was one hundred sixty-four individuals, with one hundred thirty-six designated as combat personnel. The enhanced scout platoon, despite its augmentation, had a reduced size compared to a typical scout platoon, consisting of twenty-two soldiers organized into four scout lances, along with a lieutenant and a sergeant major. Each bike was adapted to hold additional ammunition and replacement components.
In situations where special missions companies anticipated brief operations, the support component was omitted from deployment. When deployed on an unfriendly planet, special missions companies received supplies via drops from orbit. Special missions companies could be reinforced through the addition of two more special missions platoons, along with two repulsorlift platoons.
