Tehar

Tehar was an obscure terrestrial planet located in the Mid Rim near the Unknown Regions. The world was home to a human population known as the Teharans, and it was the site of a village that featured a temple of the Force. In 34 ABY, the planet suffered an attack from First Order forces under the command of Kylo Ren that completely devastated the world.

Stowing away on a cargo ship, the Teharan children Eila and Kel consequently became the only survivors, eventually finding themselves on the Colossus refueling station. While evading subsequent First Order search efforts, the children shared the knowledge of Tehar's destruction with the Resistance spy Kazuda Xiono and mechanics Tamara Ryvora and Neeku Vozo.

Description

Tehar was a terrestrial planet located in the Mid Rim Territories near the Unknown Regions. It was situated in grid square I-7 of the Standard Galactic Grid. After the Attack on Tehar, led by First Order leader Kylo Ren, the planet was reduced to smoldering ash.

Attack on Tehar

Tehar was a relatively unknown planet. In 34 ABY, First Order forces led by Ren attacked a village on Tehar. The siblings Eila and Kel were the only survivors, as they escaped on a cargo ship while their homeworld was devastated. The children arrived at the Colossus refueling station on the planet Castilon, where they attempted to hide. When the First Order learned of the existence of the survivors, they placed a bounty of twenty thousand credits on the children to ensure any evidence of the massacre on Tehar was liquidated.

After receiving information on Eila and Kel's location, Captain Phasma of the First Order dispatched agents—which included a tech stormtrooper and a standard stormtrooper, with both being led by Commander Pyre—to the Colossus to locate the children. Eila expressed a desire to return to Tehar, only to be reminded by Kel that there was nothing for them to return to. The younglings then met the Chelidae, a native Castilon species that worked in the Colossuss engineering levels, who introduced them to Resistance spy Kazuda Xiono. Eila and Kel explained to Xiono, his droid companion BB-8, and his friend Neeku Vozo that they fled Tehar—the name of which Xiono did not recognize—after Ren destroyed their home. Xiono then vowed to assist the children in escaping the First Order.

BB-8, Kel, Xiono, and Vozo subsequently visited the Colossus marketplace to acquire herbs in order to treat Eila's broken leg. Phasma's forces spotted Kel and gave chase to the group. After returning to the engineering level, Xiono inquired as to the reason for the First Order's interest in the children, which was not known to Eila. Then, Xiono orchestrated a plan to fake the children's deaths, which the Chelidea helped facilitate. Pyre and his troopers were successfully deceived, and Pyre reported the supposed accomplishment to Phasma. Phasma was pleased by the report, remarking that the name "Tehar" would fade from existence and the actions of the First Order would be left undiscovered by the Resistance. When Xiono reported the incident to Resistance member Ello Asty, the Abednedo did not recognize Tehar either and theorized that the planet resided in the Unknown Regions.

After the First Order occupied the Colossus, a stormtrooper designated CS-515 encountered Eila and Kel while the children were fishing for snarlfish. After discovering the children did not have an identification badge, CS-515 sought to arrest the Teharans. The children resisted and, in the resulting scuffle, knocked the trooper unconscious. The siblings once more sought Xiono's help and led him, BB-8, Vozo, and mechanic Tamara Ryvora to CS-515's unconscious body. While the Resistance spy disguised himself as CS-515 to ensure that the stormtrooper had not reported the children's existence to the First Order, Ryvora, too, questioned why the First Order was hunting Eila and Kel, prompting Eila to recount the planet's fate to her—though, as before, Kel could not name a reason for the First Order's actions.

Later in 34 ABY, Eila and Kel traveled to the planet Ashas Ree. While exploring an outpost there, they found a temple of the Force that reminded Eila of the temple from their village on Tehar. Kel remarked that the structure was larger than the Teharan temple and featured unfamiliar symbols on its exterior. Later still in that same year, Tehar was represented by a space in the board game Sector Set. Aboard the Purrgil-class starcruiser Halcyon, the game was played by a group of passengers in the starcruiser's Atrium.

At some point, the Attack on Tehar was documented in the First Order Archives. In 35 ABY, historian Beaumont Kin referenced Tehar as a victim of the First Order's conquest in his book, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.
