A Qubey lived on the Outer Rim moon Caliban by the time of the Clone Wars. In 22 BBY, it became separated from its parent during Separatist General Grievous' invasion of the moon and found itself trapped on one side of a chasm due to the destruction of a lunar ice bridge. Afterward, it called out for the other Qubeys and was noticed by the Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi, the latter of whom was being forced by Grievous to rebuild the bridge with his clone troopers. Kenobi then worked with Caliban's natives to defeat Grievous and reunite the Qubey with its relatives, destroying their rebuilt bridge after ensuring the Qubeys were safely reunited on one side of a chasm.
By the time of the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, a Qubey lived on its homeworld, the Outer Rim moon Caliban. In 22 BBY, the Separatist General Grievous invaded Caliban during a battle and destroyed the moon's lunar ice bridge that connected one side of the moon to the other. The Qubey was separated from its parent and the moon's other Qubeys during the fighting and became trapped on one side of the destroyed bridge, unable to find a way across. Eventually, it climbed to a high vantage point among Caliban's stony cliffs and called out for its parent across a chasm.
Not long afterward, Grievous captured the Republic's Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi and several of his clone troopers on Caliban, ordering them to reconstruct the lunar ice bridge that Separatist forces had destroyed. As Kenobi's forces began their work, the Jedi and his Clone Commander, CC-2224 "Cody," encountered the Qubey near their construction site. The Qubey ignored Kenobi's warning to be careful near the cliff's edge as it indicated to the Jedi where other Qubeys were trying to reunite with it from the other side. Cody and Kenobi briefly discussed the situation, with the latter eventually promising to rebuild the bridge better than it was before to help the Caliban native rejoin its family. The Qubey hugged Kenobi and began excitedly talking to him.
Afterward, the group of Qubey on the other side of the bridge's chasm suggested that they help the Jedi attack Grievous upon the bridge's completion. Kenobi agreed with their plot, and after reacquiring his lightsaber with the natives' assistance, engaged in a lightsaber duel with Grievous and eventually trapped the Separatist general under an avalanche of snow. After the Qubey joined its relatives on one side of the lunar ice bridge, Kenobi and his troopers left Caliban on a gunship and destroyed the structure so the Separatists could not use it. Later that year, Cody recounted the story of the Caliban mission—including meeting the Qubey—to his colleagues, Clone Captain CT-7567 "Rex" and Clone Commander CC-3636 "Wolffe" while on a mission to the planet Hisseen.
The Caliban native was distraught when separated from its parent after Grievous' destruction of the world's ice bridge. The Qubey eagerly hugged Kenobi upon realizing he was friendly and willing to help and also supported its kin's plans to thwart Grievous' efforts to control the moon. It had light blue skin, blue eyes, white fur, and a tuft of darker blue fur on its head. The Caliban native spoke the Qubey language.
While on Caliban, the Qubey wore a light blue scarf.
The Qubey appeared in a flashback scene in the fifth issue of the Star Wars Adventures: The Clone Wars – Battle Tales comic-book series. The issue was written by Michael Moreci and published by IDW Publishing on September 30, 2020. The flashback depicting the Qubey was drawn by Philip Murphy.
