At some point between 1 ABY and 2 ABY, Lieutenant Keyan Farlander, a rebel pilot, was dispatched to the staging area in a B-wing starfighter in order to destroy the cargo containers and parked TIE starfighters there. Farlander destroyed all of his targets before jumping into hyperspace.
Yunkor IX was first mentioned in the Tour of Duty: B-Wing expansion to Totally Games' video game Star Wars: X-Wing. X-Wing was released in February 1993, while the expansion released in the fall of that year. The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Yunkor system, and therefore Yunkor IX, in grid square K-19. "B-Wing," a September 10, 2004 article published on the website for the Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided video game, erroneously states that the TIE staging area was located on Yunkor IX.
