Aaron Muszalski

Aaron Muszalski is a creative individual who contributed his talents to video games developed by LucasArts.

Initially, during his time with the company, he was involved in the testing phase for games unrelated to Star Wars, including titles like Night Shift, Loom, Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe, and The Secret of Monkey Island. Eventually, he began contributing artwork for Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge.

Collette Michaud appointed him as the lead art technician during the production of Star Wars: Rebel Assault. His main task was editing footage taken from the Original Trilogy films, which would then be used as cutscenes within the game's narrative. Adapting the movie footage required him to isolate moving characters and integrate them into static backgrounds, frequently involving significant editing. For instance, a modified animation of Mark Hamill was used to create the main character "Rookie One" in the game's introduction and at the Royal Award Ceremony at the conclusion (with Harrison Ford and Chewbacca removed through editing). Muszalski was also responsible for compressing the rendered missions, artwork, and animations to fit the established resolution and color depth, reducing the color palette to 256 colors for the PC and Mac versions, and 64 colors for the Sega CD version.

Later, he became a member of the Star Wars: Dark Forces development team. His initial significant contribution to the game involved organizing the vast collection of 2D textures and animations created for the Jedi Engine. This included establishing a standardized naming system for the filenames and assisting in the development of software that printed all the artwork in catalog form for convenient reference. His efforts aided in managing and tracking the information, making it easier to locate the necessary graphics quickly.
