A unit of clone troopers was under the leadership of Jedi Knight Aayla Secura when the Clone Wars began, specifically during the First Battle of Geonosis. After Jedi Grand Master Yoda got to Geonosis with two battle armies of clone troopers to save the Jedi assault team that was in the Petranaki Arena, Secura arrived on the front lines and assumed command of a clone unit.
It was during this time that Secura showed her powerful leadership and combat skills, as well as her ability to skillfully handle military command. Secura demonstrated her abilities to the clones she commanded, fighting alongside them throughout the conflict. Her blue lightsaber became a symbol for the clones who served under her. As a result of her leadership abilities in the battle, Aayla Secura was promoted to Jedi General and given control of the 327th Star Corps, along with her own fleet group.
