AC1-series surveillance droid
The AC1-series surveillance droid, often referred to as Spy Eyes, represented a commonly used surveillance droid model produced by Cybot Galactica. These spherical droids, measuring less than a meter in diameter, incorporated a low-power repulsorlift generator alongside a suite of advanced imaging and observation technologies. The Galactic Empire deployed these droids within Murkhana City, along with an ASN courier droid modified with a holotransmitter, to infiltrate a former medcenter that housed a deflector shield generator. The standard AC1 models were equipped with a 360-degree holocam coupled with a high-powered holotransceiver designed to transmit live video feeds to an operator's remote holodisplay. They also possessed the ability to carry a multi-optic imaging system featuring passive low-light, thermal, infrared, ultrasonic, digital optical, X-ray, and various other sensors. Furthermore, a turret-mounted light blaster pistol was included for defense and security applications.
Their programming rendered them relatively unintelligent, exhibiting limited personality or independent decision-making capabilities. Officers responsible for overseeing patrol groups of AC1 units typically piloted them remotely using a control panel and spoken commands. When operating autonomously, AC1 units would patrol designated areas, regularly reporting back to their controller, and discreetly follow targets, documenting their movements until a security team arrived.
The Imperial Military extensively utilized the AC1-series, deploying them across nearly all Imperial bases, camps, installations, and even space stations. During the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic, Alliance Intelligence operatives discovered that, due to a previously unknown vulnerability in their programming, AC1 droids could be sliced and controlled with relative ease.
