The Fallanassi, alternatively known as Adepts of the White Current, constituted a religious order dedicated to the White Current, recognized by the Jedi as the Force. Resembling the Witches of Dathomir in their predominantly female composition, they rarely imparted their teachings to males. Through the White Current, the Fallanassi were capable of extraordinary feats involving illusions and a specialized ability called Force immersion, yet they lacked proficiency in manipulating the physical world through powers like telekinesis. Their doctrine emphasized that authority is an illusion, advocating for individuals to exclusively pursue their own desires.
One of the initial settlements for the order was located on Lucazec. However, after the Fallanassi declined to pledge allegiance to Emperor Palpatine, they were compelled to flee from his stormtroopers, their location having been divulged by one of their own, Talsava.
Following a search for new worlds to inhabit, the Fallanassi ultimately chose to settle on the planet J't'p'tan situated within the Koornacht Cluster, deep within the Deep Core, which served as a sanctuary for the H'kig monks. In return for the refuge granted on their world, the Fallanassi committed to safeguarding their spiritual counterparts by generating potent illusions through their command of the White Current. These illusions were so convincing that they could deceive visitors into perceiving the H'kig monastery, known as the Temple of the Infinite Spirit, as nothing more than crumbling ruins. Seventeen years following the Battle of Yavin, the Fallanassi received two guests: Akanah, the daughter of Talsava, and Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, who sought information about his mother, believing her to be associated with their order. Although his quest proved unsuccessful, Skywalker convinced Wialu, the leader of the Fallanassi, to conjure a powerful illusion of battle cruisers, which significantly contributed to the New Republic's victory in the Battle of N'zoth, effectively resolving the Yevethan crisis. With the Yevetha's defeat, the Fallanassi departed from their adopted home of J't'p'tan aboard the Koqus liner named Star Morning.
Subsequently, the order established a new settlement on Pydyr, a moon orbiting Almania. Six years after the conclusion of the war against the Yuuzhan Vong, the order continued to exist under Akanah's leadership. They were also visited by Jacen Solo, who, during his six-year journey following the Yuuzhan Vong War, sought out various Force-sensitive groups, including the Fallanassi and the Aing-Tii. Solo briefly underwent training with Akanah to learn how to harness the White Current before departing to respond to a distress call emanating from deep within the Unknown Regions during the Dark Nest Crisis.
