The Alderaanian Graveyard, which smugglers often refer to as the Graveyard of Alderaan, was an asteroid field located within the Alderaan system. This field came into existence due to the destruction of the planet Alderaan. During the reign of the Galactic Empire, the graveyard was subjected to a blockade that remained in effect until the Empire's loss at the Battle of Endor. Following that pivotal battle, the Alderaan Flotilla gained entry to the graveyard with the intention of recovering Alderaanian artifacts from the asteroids. The survivors of Alderaan, traveling aboard the flotilla, were presented with the remnants of the Death Star as a means to construct a station within the graveyard.
