Ali-Alann was a Jedi Master of the male Human species, responsible for supervising and caring for Jedi younglings at the creche during the Clone Wars period.
Ali-Alann was a Jedi Master of the Human race and male gender, who had undergone training in the Force by the Jedi Order.
As of 44 BBY, Ali-Alann was serving the Order by taking care of the youngest Jedi students at the Jedi Temple nurseries on Coruscant. During this time, Xanatos, a Dark Jedi, started his sabotage campaign against the Temple. While Ali-Alann was escorting a group of ten younglings to the Jedi Temple Refectory using a turbolift that traveled over the Lake Level, Xanatos ambushed them. The turbolift became unstable and tilted over the lake, threatening to fall into the water far below. Fortunately for Ali-Alann, Padawans Obi-Wan Kenobi and Bant Eerin were present in the lake chamber and quickly came to their aid. Kenobi managed to enter the car, being careful not to cause it to fall off the tracks. As the last of the students were rescued, the Jedi High Council, who had been summoned by Eerin, used the Force to gently lower the car to the ground.
Master Qui-Gon Jinn and Kenobi soon found out that Xanatos had been using Master Tahl's assistance droid, 2JTJ, to monitor the events within the Temple. Because Ali-Alann resembled Jinn physically, the Masters decided to switch identities in order to divert the spy droid from Jinn's pursuit of Xanatos. With Garen Muln, a Padawan disguised as Kenobi, by his side, Ali-Alann used a recording of Jinn's voice to draw the droid away from the Temple's treasury room while the other two Jedi forced Xanatos to leave the Temple.
By the time Kenobi began training Anakin Skywalker as his Padawan, Ali-Alann had been assigned a droid assistant in the nursery. When the droid needed a new motivator that was not available in the Temple's technical division, a Padawan named Tru Veld decided to surprise Ali-Alann by finding a new one. Veld located one in the Coruscant underworld, but Skywalker also discovered the motivator at the same time. The two boys argued over the motivator, but Skywalker felt ashamed when he realized that he only wanted it for himself, while Veld wanted it to help someone else. Upon returning to the Jedi Temple, Kenobi questioned Skywalker's absence, but Veld covered for him. This experience created a bond between the two, leading to a friendship.
Ali-Alann remained at the Temple throughout the Clone Wars, caring for the younglings who were still there. He was present when Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, who had been revealed as the Dark Lord of the Sith, ordered the Grand Army of the Republic to attack the Temple. Ali-Alann died within the Temple's halls while protecting the younglings he had cared for for so long.
