Alliance Cold Weather armor
The Alliance Cold Weather armor represented a type of insulated armor utilized by Rebel Alliance forces during the Galactic Civil War when operating in extremely cold climates. It served to protect Rebel soldiers from the frigid temperatures of the planet during the Battle of Hoth.
Description

The design of the Alliance Cold Weather armor incorporated light-colored padded armor specifically engineered to withstand exceptionally low temperatures. It provided significant defense against energy weapons, like blasters, but offered reduced protection from kinetic impacts. This complete armor set included headgear with an integrated face mask, anti-glare goggles, and a scarf, along with a padded vest, bicep padding, forearm bracers, dark-colored gloves, a belt, dark-colored leggings, boots, and a backpack. A jacket was worn over a padded or lightweight long-sleeved tunic. Personnel stationed inside the base commonly wore a vest featuring a high padded collar, while those on the Hoth exterior wore a smaller, thicker vest without a collar designed to fit over their jacket. Both vest types could display the wearer's rank insignia. The backpack was equipped with items like a small heater and survival supplies, all intended to safeguard the wearer against hypothermia.
History

The Alliance Cold Weather armor became the standard attire for Rebel troopers stationed on icy planets during the Galactic Civil War. These planets included Hoth, Rhen Var, Alzoc III, Ilum, and Polus. Specialized infantry also utilized this armor, including Rebel marksmen, vanguards, medics, tauntaun troopers, and the SpecForces' Wilderness Fighters.
By 3 ABY, specifically during the Battle of Hoth, the Cold Weather armor was standard issue for nearly all personnel stationed at Echo Base, the Alliance High Command headquarters, on the isolated ice planet Hoth.
Years afterwards, the Jedi known as Jaden Korr donned a similar set of clothing during a mission that took place on Hoth during the Disciples of Ragnos crisis.
