Alurali was a Jedi Knight of the Jedi Order, a female who served before the time of the Clone Wars. Differing from the majority of Jedi, Alurali received her training at the Almas Academy, an experimental facility located within the Cularin system.
Alurali was born near the end of the Galactic Republic's existence, during its later years. The Jedi Order discovered her and, rather than sending her to the primary Temple on Coruscant, enrolled her in their experimental academy on the planet Almas. After completing her initial training, a Jedi Master chose Alurali to be their Padawan. While serving and learning under her master's guidance, Alurali developed a strong friendship with another Padawan, Lora Nadad. Together, they established a philanthropic group of Jedi focused on addressing the dire situation within the Cularin system: the existence of approximately two thousand homeless orphans wandering the streets of various planets. Known collectively as "the Lost," this group of children had been largely ignored for years, but the Jedi's efforts brought increased attention to their plight. Alurali's master suggested she undertake the Trials of Knighthood, which she successfully completed. The Jedi High Council recognized her achievement and authorized the Almas Council to knight her.
