The Alzar system, situated within the Thanium sector of the Outer Rim Territories in the galaxy, was a star system. It was the location of the planet Alzar, which served as the original homeworld for the sentient Alzarian species.
The Alzar system made its initial, though unnamed, appearance in the tenth issue of the Ewoks comic series, Ewoks 10. This comic was published by Star Comics, a Marvel Comics imprint, with its initial release on October 1, 1986. The reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Jason Fry and [Daniel Wallace]((/article/daniel_wallace), formally identified the system, situating it in grid square R-6 upon its release on August 18, 2009.
