Aquatic battle droids were a specialized variant of battle droid designed specifically for underwater combat scenarios. During a test conducted by Jedi figures such as Grand Master Yoda, Jedi Master Mace Windu, and Jedi Master Bant Eerin, involving Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Padawan Anakin Skywalker, two of these aquatic droids were unleashed upon them on the planet of Glee Anselm. Skywalker then employed his ability of animal control to command a local whale to assault the droids.
