The Aquilaean system, sometimes referred to in the plural as Aquilaean systems, was a star system which housed the planet known as Aquilae. The New Galactic Empire set its sights on it for annexation, as it was among the final Independent Systems remaining. Emperor Cos Dashit designated Crispin Hoedaack to serve as its Governor. Despite also being classified within the Forbidden Systems, the planet Yavin was seemingly a part of this system. An asteroid field created a separation between Aquilae and Yavin.
The early script for Episode IV presents a somewhat unclear depiction of the Aquilaean system(s)' astrography. The destruction of the Imperial space fortress can be observed from Yavin.
