Following the conclusion of the Clone Wars, Arkinnea was overwhelmed by a massive influx of refugees. The local militia exhibited extreme animosity towards these displaced individuals, especially those suspected of CIS allegiance. The militia, despite pledging to provide land on Arkinnea for the refugees to rebuild their lives, engaged in the systematic murder of many refugees by forcing them onto spacecraft and ejecting them from significant altitudes, resulting in their deaths.
During 19 BBY, Jedi Master K'Kruhk, his padawan [Chase Piru], and the younglings he was safeguarding, experienced a crash landing on the planet after being shot down. Subsequently, they were apprehended by the local militia and confined to a detention facility. Following an encounter with another survivor, Master Zao, the Jedi group discovered a deserted abandoned Jedi Outpost. Aided by the indigenous Yunu, they utilized this outpost as a sanctuary throughout the Great Jedi Purge.
