Arobernos
The Arobernos were a towering species of sentient beings, characterized by their red epidermal layer and sharply angled ears. These beings possessed the unique ability to endure immersion within lava. An individual member of this species, lacking sight, maintained a symbiotic relationship with the Eye of Webbish Bog located on the planetary body of Mustafar.
Behind the scenes
The initial introduction of the Arobernos occurred within the pages of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: Expanded Edition, a novel penned by Rae Carson that served as the novelization of the 2019 cinematic release, Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, the concluding chapter of the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Subsequent identification of the species took place in the 2024 publication, Star Wars Encyclopedia: The Comprehensive Guide to the Star Wars Galaxy. Originally conceived for inclusion in The Rise of Skywalker, the scene featuring the species was ultimately removed prior to the film's release.
