Artillery battalion

An artillery battalion represented a unit within the organizational structure of the Imperial Army forces.

Organization

A typical artillery battalion consisted of a command element, an assault company, three artillery batteries, and the logistical vehicles needed for artillery transportation. The assault company's role was to ensure the battalion's safety, enabling tactical withdrawals and repositioning. A standard artillery battalion had a personnel strength of 810 soldiers and was outfitted with either 48 medium or heavy artillery weapons, or a larger number of 96 light artillery positions.

It was possible to reinforce artillery battalions through the attachment of an additional three artillery batteries, along with another assault company.
