An assault company, which can also be called a heavy weapons company, represented a unit within the Imperial Army structure.
An assault company's structure included two assault platoons, two line platoons, and additional command and support personnel. The total number of soldiers in an assault company ranged from 152 to 170, contingent upon the specific makeup of its assault platoons; the command and support sections increased the overall strength to between 180 and 198 personnel. Notably, the line platoons attached to assault companies utilized light repeating blasters as their standard armament.
The composition of assault companies could be expanded through the incorporation of two more assault platoons and two more line platoons.
