The name Artom Station pays homage to Reidi Artom, the individual who first discovered the Cularin system. The Comet Broom Service managed its operations, utilizing it as a navigational observation point to keep watch over the Cularin comet cloud. During the era of the Clone Wars, Garth Ezzar, a Dark Jedi, made his way to the station, where he committed the murder of the Wookiee co-proprietors of the Comet Broom Service. Subsequently, Garth Ezzar transformed the station into a gentlemen's club catering to traveling explorers. All generated revenue was channeled towards expanding Garth Ezzar's personal fleet of starships, which served as escorts for his most lucrative clients. The station rapidly gained immense popularity, leading to Garth Ezzar's considerable wealth and influence.
