Asyrphus represents a planetary body where the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry found themselves stationed sometime in the period from 0 BBY to 3 ABY. While on Asyrphus, the company endured a devastating barrage that resulted in the massacred deaths of numerous troopers, among them a comm tech and her associated droid. The soldier Hazram Namir of the 61st, who was acquainted with the aforementioned technician, carried the memory of the Asyrphus massacre with him when thinking of her in 3 ABY, and then later that year when he drew parallels between the casualties suffered by the 61st on Asyrphus and the company's more recent leadership losses.
