During this period, the 61st Mobile Infantry of the Rebel Alliance suffered a devastating bombardment, resulting in the deaths of numerous troopers. Among the casualties were the unit's comm tech and her droid. Hazram Namir, a soldier within the 61st who had known the technician, reflected upon the Asyrphus massacre during the attack on Haidoral Prime in 3 ABY, as he recalled his time alongside her. Later in that same year, Namir drew parallels between the severe casualties sustained by the 61st on Asyrphus and the more recent decimation of the company's leadership.
The 2015 novel, Battlefront: Twilight Company, penned by Alexander Freed, included a reference to the Asyrphus massacre.
