Attacks on hyperspace routes

In the year 21 BBY, subsequent to the Second Battle of Geonosis during the widespread conflict known as the Clone Wars involving the Galactic Republic against the Confederacy of Independent Systems, a wave of assaults was initiated by marauders targeting hyperspace transportation routes situated in and around the expanse of the Outer Rim Territories. As a countermeasure, Jedi General Eeth Koth commanded his naval force with the intent of locating and apprehending those responsible. Nevertheless, while traversing the Saleucami system located within the Outer Rim, the naval force unexpectedly found itself ambushed in a sudden assault orchestrated by Separatist General Grievous. Grievous then infiltrated Koth's command vessel, specifically the Venator-class Star Destroyer known as the Steadfast, utilizing a contingent of combat droids, ultimately leading to Koth's capture.
