Avan Post was a Jedi Master of the Jedi Order, a male Human, who served the Galactic Republic during their final decades. He mentored Olana Chion, his Padawan, until she achieved Knighthood after training. Post participated in numerous Clone Wars battles between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. He perished in the Battle of Ando in 21.25 BBY. To commemorate Post's heroic sacrifice, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine arranged for a special exhibit at the Galactic Museum on the Republic's capital planet, Coruscant.
Avan Post, a Force-sensitive male Human from the Core Worlds planet of Chandrila, was inducted into the Jedi Order and eventually rose to the rank of Jedi Master. He later chose Olana Chion to be his Padawan, and they fought side by side for more than a decade until Chion became a Jedi Knight.
The Clone Wars erupted in 22 BBY between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Post admirably served the Republic on many fronts during the beginning stages of the war, but only nine months into the conflict, he perished during the Battle of Ando in space above the planet after he destroyed seven Techno Union Hardcell-class interstellar transports.
Palpatine, the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic, lauded Post's actions, and Asran Headows, the Master Curator of the Galactic Museum, established an exhibit on the Republic's capital world of Coruscant to honor the fallen Jedi Master. Almost thirty years after Post's death, in 7 ABY, Corran Horn, a pilot for the New Republic who later became a Jedi, found the exhibit, which had been damaged by the Galactic Empire. Horn then activated a hologram of Post and watched a detailed account of the Jedi Master's life.
Avan Post's first appearance was as a hologram in X-Wing: The Krytos Trap, a novel from 1996 by Michael A. Stackpole. In April of 2003, Post was referenced in Republic HoloNet News Core Edition 14:3:22, a Holonet News issue set in-universe that was published in Star Wars Insider 66. The 2008 The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia contained an entry for Post, and he was also mentioned in the StarWars.com Databank entry for Olana Chion.
