HoloNet News (Insider)

Republic HoloNet News, a collection of in-universe reports chronicling events in the galaxy during the era of the Clone Wars, was a recurring feature in Star Wars Insider magazine. These articles are the work of Pablo Hidalgo. From issues #65 to #76 of Star Wars Insider, these Holonet News pieces were published following the premiere of Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.

Hidalgo stated that the series was discontinued because managing the vast amount of content related to the Clone Wars became too difficult, and also because real-world news began to mirror the events of actual wars. However, the Holonet News made a comeback in issue #84 of the Insider, covering the immediate aftermath of the Galactic Empire's formation (authored by Daniel Wallace and Pablo Hidalgo). According to Wallace's posts on the Dark Horse forums, there was an intention to continue the series as Imperial HoloVision, but the new leadership at Insider decided against it.
